Autopilot has been great on highways for a while, but many of our drives are through residential areas: for example, between two houses or a house and a local store. This early beta of Autopilot FSD handles just that. In this video you can see the system driving through a residential area at night time with 0 disengagements required. The system handled everything itself, including opening a gate and waiting for it to finish before continuing. It's doing this all with just cameras, radars, and sonar. That means the hardware is cheap enough to include in an average car anyone can afford. Right now you still need to monitor and supervise as the system is not perfect, but in the coming years this technology will transform the world as we know.
